What to do when you struggle to believe in yourself

Do you ever struggle to believe in yourself?

Are you wondering ” is my message really worth anything to someone else?”.

Can I really make it in my business?

Can I really have what I want in my life?

Can I really do this?

If you’re feeling that way, or if you’ve ever felt that way, you are not alone. We all struggle sometimes with believing in ourselves, our message, our capacity to achieve.

I learned so much about overcoming obstacles from my dad. You see, he was disabled as a young man, and was told by people the all the rest of his life what he wouldn’t be able to do.

When he was in a hospital bed, laying flat on his back with no movement in his body from the neck down, he was told he would never be able to walk again; but no young man was ever more determined to prove them wrong, and with the help of one friend, so he did.

His dream of being a carpenter was crushed, and they told him he’d never enjoy a “normal” life of being a working man. But he didn’t accept that and went on his way to educate himself in working from his brain, not his brawn.

Everything he did proved someone wrong.

Against what people believed his future would look like, he went on to be a wonderful husband and father. He did things he wanted to do because he always found a way. He was like McGuyver ahead of his time.

I never, not once, ever heard him say, “Can I do this?”

You see, he simply didn’t accept that he couldn’t – he just didn’t think that way.

He knew where there is a will, there is also a way. That when you make tenacious your middle name, you can achieve what you set your mind to. When you think with the ingenuity of faith, all is possible.

Everything he did exemplified “Believe in yourself any you can do anything!”

Remember when you are faced with people who doubt you, or when you are doubting yourself, all things are possible if you have the will, drive and faith to see them through.

Believe in yourself – you are far more amazing than you think!
