The eternal struggle of the woman entrepreneur – when you do what you love, the money part often makes it messy. But, what do you do when you struggle with that? Money is a necessary part of not only growing a business but being able to share your message in a big way, and create the lifestyle you want through your entrepreneurship. Rather than for love OR money, it needs to be for love and money (well, unless you want to be broke and back to work for someone else).
Women, generally speaking, become entrepreneurs for the lifestyle, not solely for the purpose of making money. And…the closer your business is to your heart, the harder the money part becomes.
Emotions override objectivity, the strength of the worth of your message is held in limbo while you struggle to feel qualified, and you may find yourself working for far too little, or worse yet, nothing at all.
You feel the pull of doing it for love or money.
But,you can’t build the life you want with no money.
There are so many ‘reasons’ why this struggle occurs, but the answer lies in getting to the root cause(s).
Holding space for your time, for someone who values that, is a lesson and gift we can give ourselves. Both in the time we get to use our knowledge to help another, and in money that we earn by those who value your entrepreneurship. Nice. Elizabeth Traub
